Version 2 comes with a brand-new interface, a built-in tuner, a metronome in the standalone app, and a variety of refinements and fixes to the audio processing. It's a free upgrade for existing Pro owners.
A new interface
The interface now uses a strong 3D visual language. Controls are rendered from a detailed 3D model, with depth, lighting and brushed metal materials. It scales from 75 to 150 % to suit your screen.
The layout makes better use of your screen, and the scope, meters and gate are always in view. The pedals are now easier to navigate.
The cabinet and microphone section is rebuilt around a visual representation of the physical layout that you can edit directly.
Adding stereo spread is easier than ever: it's an Alt-drag, or Option-drag on macOS.
A tuner and a metronome
The tuner is fast and precise. It locks onto the string quickly and shows you a trace, so you can see exactly where your string settles.
The standalone app has a metronome, so you can practise to a click without opening your DAW.
Refined sound and more consistent levels
The tone stack is a more accurate representation of the amplifier circuit, and the tube stages have a more accurate onset of clipping.
Oversampling gets rid of unwanted high-frequency artifacts. It defaults to Auto, which targets an internal rate of about 96 kHz. You can go above that, or below it to save processing.
The volume is more consistent as you change Drive, Power Drive and the voicing, so you can play and experiment without constantly adjusting your output level.
The output level is better calibrated for headroom, and the gate responds better to your pick attack.
Plug-in formats
Version 2 comes as VST3, CLAP and Audio Unit plug-ins and a standalone app. It runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and on 64-bit Windows.
An improved standalone app
The standalone app has a Settings panel that remembers your inputs and outputs. On Windows, it runs on your interface's ASIO driver for low latency.
If you own version 1.3
Version 2 is a free upgrade. Your licence carries over: your existing product key activates it.
It installs alongside 1.3, so your existing sessions keep opening in 1.3. Import your 1.3 presets from the preset menu.
Requirements, licence and demo
Requires macOS 11 or later, or 64-bit Windows 10 or later. The interface uses GPU acceleration.
A one-time purchase covers up to three computers. Activate once online, then play offline.
The demo is the full plug-in, with five seconds of silence each minute until you enter a key.
